Brassica

Hear the word “brassica” and you might imagine some prehistoric plant or little-known element. In fact, it refers to a genus of plants in the mustard family, also known as cruciferous vegetables. And this nutrient-rich vegetable family is so common, you’re probably already eating one brassica or another every day. From broccoli and cauliflower to kale and rocket, to radishes and turnips (and let’s not forget cabbage!), the brassica family contains some of our favourite root veggies and leafy greens.
